Besides getting reacquainted with our favorite missionaries, we had a great time just hanging out with so much family. We were so excited to meet two new cuties- Abby (my sister Jeannine's baby) and Nathan (my sister Miriam's baby) for the first time. I thought Lydia's reaction to them was cute too- she would smile and kick and try to grab them.
My brother Nathan showed Benjamin how to play Parcheesi.
And each of my kids had time to really bond with Grandma and Grandpa, which is the best part to watch.
On one of the days, we all headed down to Heritage Park, also known as "This is the Place" Monument. I was impressed with all there was to do there- like milking a fake cow. ;)
There were also hairy Scottish cows to see, but we didn't get to milk those...
Michelle got back into civilian life pretty quick in the Navajo family lodge...
The boys really enjoyed panning for gold, and were so excited that they had made us rich!
The boys also really enjoyed watching the blacksmith work.
One of my favorite shops there was the tannery. We learned all about how different kinds of leather are made, and the kids even got to try their hands at leather stamping.
They each chose their own designs to do on their little leather squares.
Nora's was covered with flowers and butterflies and kitties.
It was nice to ride the train around, as it was an especially warm day.
And the ice cream didn't hurt either.
The kids also got to have a few turns riding the ponies.
We had a great time visiting my family, and are already looking forward to a real family reunion next month! It's hard living so far away from all you grandmas and grandpas and aunts and uncles and cousins!
