Ultrasound: 10 Weeks.

The little peanut got hiccups here. It's a profile; the head is on the left (about half of the body) and you can sort of make out the little arm and leg buds that were squirming around.

Ultrasound: 16 Weeks.

It's a...BOY! It's probably for the best that the quality on this picture is so bad. It's just a shot from underneath that the doctor labeled for us. It was an exciting moment, though. It seemed to make the whole pregnancy thing a little more real for both of us.

External View: 24 Weeks.

The baby's been kicking a lot more recently. It's kind of a strange feeling, but very exciting. Sometimes, you can even see the him moving through clothes. According to the doctor's measurements from the ultrasound, he's about a foot long and 1 lb. 10 oz. His original due date was June 12, but as he's consistently measured larger, he'll probably come more like early June.

Ultrasound: 24 Weeks.

This is the first ultrasound that, in my opinion, didn't look like Skeletor. If you can't tell, he's looking right at us. He has a really defined jaw line.

3D Ultrasound: 24 Weeks.

We thought this picture was incredible. If you can't make it out, it's a profile shot of the head and the right hand nestled up against the wall. It's funny how much personality he already has; it was really tough to just get him to show his face at all. He kept burying it where he knew his picture couldn't be taken. Granted, it was only 8:30 in the morning.

Happy Beginnings

This "blog" is just an experiment, really. Neither of us have ever done this before, but we thought it might be a fun and easy way to keep people who want to stay in the loop updated about our newest development - our baby! We hope to keep this updated fairly regularly, especially once he arrives and things really start to become interesting. If anyone has strong ideas about names or tips on raising kids or amazing labor stories or whatever, feel free to post them here. Enjoy!
