Legoland

We couldn't go all the way to California and not visit Legoland. The boys may have been equally excited to go there as they were Disneyland. Not really knowing what to expect, we made another early morning of it, only to find the gates locked....and we were two hours early. Crowds were virtually non-existent, and the overall feel was nothing like Disneyland. But there were a lot of 4-12 year old boys running around having a blast.

This ride (which was essentially the Alice in Wonderland Teacups ride) had a height requirement that only Benjamin passed!?

Peter was really upset that he wasn't big enough to ride. I think I even wasn't supposed to ride on it since I'm pregnant, but my jacket hid my belly well enough to go on it with Benjamin.

Things started to get cooler once we hit the Star Wars area.

Nora excitedly pointed out Princess Leia.

And Peter was dumbfounded that someone had designed and made all these cool things without instructions. Several of the scenes from Star Wars were on display.

There were also several cities all built out of Legos that were pretty awesome. Benjamin was excited to see the Statue of Liberty there!

We spotted Hagrid and Harry!

Peter was later consoled by the fact that he was the only one who could drive the go-carts (for 3-5 year olds). It was a funny sight with all those little cars weaving around, perpendicular to the lanes half the time.

He was so proud when he earned his "driver's license!"

Meanwhile, Nora and I were playing in Duplo Village, trying our best to stay dry in the steady drizzle that came in around noon.

The boys thought this lion was pretty cool.

Nora could have played on that playground all day.

Peter, spying on me, then later protesting that I was taking too many pictures of him.

We might have stayed longer if it hadn't started raining, but we were glad we went. I think the kids really enjoyed themselves.

Danielle said...: Yeah, Legoland has totally ridiculous height requirements. I took Miles earlier this year with a friend who has a pass and Miles only got to ride two rides. Luckily he was young enough to not really care.

She uses "actually no" surprisingly often. When Dad goes to get her out of her crib in the morning, "Actually No! Mommy!"
