I finished Nora's portrait, at least for now. I'm pleased with how it turned out. It was so fun to work with my oils again! Someday, I'd really like to have my own studio.
It was fun to scroll down and figure out which picture you chose to use. It was so easy to tell; it looks just like the photo, yet with something more. Almost like more of her personality came through the painting than in the photo because her own mother created it. Very cool.
I don't know what's more impressive--the talent itself or making time to use it while being an outstanding mom to three very young kids. WOW.
Well, done, Sarah! I'm impressed--I know portraiture has never been your first love. But you did a wonderful job on this. I've struggled with flesh tones, so I know what an accomplishment it is to get those just right. Beautiful. You should be very proud of yourself.
I can't believe that less than 3 weeks have passed since you announced here that you were going to start a portrait. It's beautiful. You captured her look so perfectly. It's not easy to find the time to create while raising kids, but it's so rewarding, isn't it?
I love it! You did such a good job and I too can't believe how quickly you did it. When I look at it big, I like it even more-- the hair, the ears, the nose and cheeks all remind me of looking at Johnny-- they're true to life. I've always thought it was hard to draw/paint babies-- have you? Well, you can do it!

Amazing! You really did a great job. I wish I could commission you to do portraits of all of my kids. What a special thing to have.
...wow. Beautiful. You are so talented. I SO hope you get your own studio.
Gorgeous! It really looks like her! That is the mark of serious talent.
What a sweet, beautiful portrait. You are inspiring me to do one of Jonah. How did you find the time to paint with three kids?! I'm impressed.
